General Surgery

It’s not uncommon that animals need surgical intervention to treat disease or improve their quality of life. At Foothills Animal Hospital, we provide routine spaying & neutering surgery in-house.  In addition, we provide elective surgeries to address benign growths and masses.

Surgery is performed in-house reducing costs and trauma to your pet. We have a laboratory on-site for preoperative tests and employ state-of-the-art equipment.  Our staff strives to minimize the amount of stress your pet faces when he needs surgery.

Surgeries are scheduled for Wednesday or Thursday morning and you can drop off your pet from 8:30 to 9:00 a.m.  You can pick him up early in the afternoon.

Foothills Animal Hospital is a small practice with a small staff, so we can provide personal care for each and every pet.  During the procedure, a certified veterinary technician is assigned to your pet and will stay with him throughout the surgery, monitoring heart rate, blood pressure and blood oxygen.

Important:

The night before your pet’s surgery, do not feed solid food after 8p.m. and no water after midnight.  This is very important to the success of the surgery and safety of your pet.
